Read our top tips for staying positive during infertility and download a free ‘positivity boosters’ pdf to help keep you on track
In a recent podcast interview with positive psychology expert, Mel Deague, we discussed how powerful ‘positivity boosters’ can be.
So we’ve jotted them down in today’s blog to remind you of some of the ways you can build more positivity into your life.
Infertility is tough so it’s not about masking negative feelings – it’s about balancing these with more positive emotions. Building in more positivity boosters to your day will gradually help you feel more optimistic. Positivity accumulates so the more you put in, the more you get out!
Our top 8 positivity boosters
1. Walking in nature
Head to the beach, the woods or walk by the river. Breathe deeply and try and stay in the moment.
2. Music / Podcast
Listen to your favourite playlist or podcast that makes you happy. Even just for a couple of minutes if that’s all you have.
3. Supportive friends
Meet friends that you can be open with and are supportive of what you need right now – an ear, a shoulder to cry on or a laugh!
4. Comedy time
Dig out your favourite DVDs or search Netflix for something that is guaranteed to make you laugh.
5. Meditation
Try some quiet, reflective meditation. Don’t worry if your thoughts wander – just bring yourself back to the moment. You could try our online short course to get you started in fertility meditation for only $27
6. Exercise
Getting moving releases our natural happy endorphins. Try something new, go with friends or hit the gym.
7. Indulge your passion
Whether it’s something creative like art or music or a hobby you used to do – take some time out for your favourite hobby or passion
8. Generosity to others
Giving to others makes you feel good too. Volunteer, donate or create a random act of kindness to give you and someone else a boost
