Bono once said that ‘Music can change the world because it can change people’. I’m right there with you Bono (although not too sure of the glasses, but that’s ok!)
Music is powerful, evocative and can transport you right back to a moment in your life when you were listening to that track. Some songs can make us laugh, dance or cry instantly
Here at Your Fertility Hub, we’re all about harnessing your emotions in a positive way to help you on your fertility journey and that’s what we’re going to do today. It’s time to choose your power tracks!
First up, I’ll share mine with you and the reasons each track is special to me.
Pumped up – Free by Ultra Nate – I used to dance to this with my sister and best friends growing up. It reminds me of great times but also the words fire me up. It reminds me of my passion and drives to help women be ‘free’ from their fertility and I always listen to it at the gym when it’s ‘go hard or go home’ time!
Loved up – Lay Me Down by Sam Smith and John Legend – This song just gradually crept under my skin and came to signify being with my husband. Not just that (!) but the time that our busy lives barely gives us – the time to reconnect and just be with each other
Chilled out – This love by Craig Armstrong – I love Craig Armstrong’s instrumental music. It’s been featured in hit films like Love Actually, Romeo & Juliet and the Great Gatsby and is so evocative. I started listening to this song as I prepared for my second birth. It signifies focus, determination and relaxation time. I also always listen to this at the gym when I’m stretching which is my main ‘chill out’ time
Choose your power tracks
So now I want you to do the same, search through your memories and your online / CD/record collection (depending on your age!) and start to settle on your three tracks. Write them out on this downloadable sheet and stick this somewhere in your home. This will remind you to use your power tracks to empower you – to help you stay pumped up, loved up and chilled out.
Please share your power tracks in the comments below. Once we get enough, we can even make some Spotify playlists that we can all enjoy together!
